Meditation has been around for thousands of years. It is the art of focusing the mind on a single point of focus in order to take a time out from mental clutter.
Meditation has been scientifically proven to boost mood, reduce depression and anxiety and increase focus and concentration.
In each meditation session we look at different ways to focus to keep at bay those non-stop thoughts. Focus points can include breath work, the body and the senses, music, guided visualisations, mantras, mandalas, videos and movement.
Like any skill, meditation needs to be learn, so don’t be put off if you’ve tried it on a tape or class and felt unsuccessful the first few times.
Bear in mind that most of us have spent a life time training your mind to be multi-tasking, constantly taking in a never-ending stream of information. Meditation is a wonderful anti-dote to these habits, however it's reasonable to expect your mind may take a little time to become receptive to the idea of slowing down.
Meditation can be taught 1-to-1 as part of a life coaching programme but is most popular within the framework of upcoming courses and classes in my Workshops section.
